What a couple of days for the survival horror fans. Yesterday The Silent Hill Transmission made chills run through our bodies, and today the classic evil is back to haunt you. Capcom has finally revealed a lengthy gameplay trailer and a story trailer for the upcoming remake of their classic Resident Evil 4. The gameplay trailer gives us more information on what Capcom has in store for the fans.
As Capcom promised the fans that the real essence of the original RE4 would remain intact: It was reflected in the new gameplay trailer how impressively the developers have managed to keep the original spirit of the game with a refreshing new look. In addition, the gameplay trailer reveals the new and improved game mechanics. Leon can now shoot while moving (finally) and crouch now as well, which will help him take a closer jab at knocked-down Ganados. The attacking system of ganados has also been improved; now, they are more ruthless and can attack Leon collaboratively. Melee weapons like knives have durability measures now, which means your knife will wear out over time, and you cannot rely on that one weapon throughout the game. The knife will also help you block a chainsaw attack now. The stealth fragments are also added to the remake. Leon can now crouch and sweep through different situations and quietly kill a ganados from behind with his melee weapon. The survival/medical kits (to synthesize medicine and tablets) and the merchant from the original game are making a comeback and will be equally important to you throughout your gameplay. The mechanism of the merchant has also been improved with the introduction of a new special coin that you can trade off for different and enhanced weapons. These new game mechanics and visual improvements are clearly visible. However, the main storyline still seems the same, but it sure feels different with the improved audio quality that aids in an immersive experience. Resident Evil 4 Remake will be released on 24th March 2023 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Are you excited about the game?
