But when we take a closer look at the gameplay footage presented by Naughty Dog, all of these implementations haven’t been showcased in the best light. There’s no denying the fact that the Last of Us looks incredible on the PS5 with a revamped AI and improves visuals across the border, which enhance the overall immersion of the game. The character models for the players have improved as well, and they needed to be. They steered away from the more cartoony style to full-on photorealistic character models. That term hasn’t been used for years now, has it? Ellie had some odd facial proportions, which were a bit cartoony with her large eyes, and they will be fixed in the upcoming Last of Us 1 Remake. Joel looks a bit more withered and older this time around but the polygons and textures on his clothing look pretty solid. But there are a few caveats to take into consideration. If you’ve played the game before, then the exorbitant 70 Dollar price tag makes absolutely no sense. But if you haven’t tried it out, then getting the game would be pretty much worth it.

The game needs some further content, especially for players that finished the game back in 2013. A discount for previous owners of The Last of Us 2013 would have been fair, but the discount policy for remakes and remasters has been pretty flimsy when it comes to the PlayStation Store and Sony, for that matter.
From whatever we’ve gathered so far, The Last of Us Part 1 will be a good remake, and it will surely solidify itself as a true homage to the original. But at 70 dollars, you can’t help but feel a bit uneasy.
