Street Fighter V Outpaces Previous Titles Becoming The Best Selling Fighter Game

Capcom has finally accomplished a turnaround. After six and a half years on the market, Street Fighter V has 6.6 million units sold, according to the most recent Platinum Titles list. In terms of overall sales for the firm, this effectively places it as the 8th best-selling game. So far, only games like Resident Evil 7 and Monster Hunter World: Iceborne have topped it. Street Fighter V has outperformed Street Fighter II on the SNES in terms of overall sales. A record-breaking 6.3 million copies of this particular title were sold, setting a sales record that stood for 30 years. SFV managed to sell 400,000 additional units during the second quarter of the year. That’s astounding for a game that is now more than six years old. The successful sales of Street Fighter V could be positive precursor for the upcoming Street Fighter 6.
