Capcom has finally accomplished a turnaround. After six and a half years on the market, Street Fighter V has 6.6 million units sold, according to the most recent Platinum Titles list. In terms of overall sales for the firm, this effectively places it as the 8th best-selling game. So far, only games like Resident Evil 7 and Monster Hunter World: Iceborne have topped it. Street Fighter V has outperformed Street Fighter II on the SNES in terms of overall sales. A record-breaking 6.3 million copies of this particular title were sold, setting a sales record that stood for 30 years. SFV managed to sell 400,000 additional units during the second quarter of the year. That’s astounding for a game that is now more than six years old. The successful sales of Street Fighter V could be positive precursor for the upcoming Street Fighter 6. Once the game launches in 2023 on the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, and PC, we’ll have to wait and see how things turn out.
